Day 1
Early afternoon welcome in Corte.
Welcome in Corte in the early afternoon and check in to your accommodation.
After a refreshing drink, we set off to discover the Restonica Valley by climbing the Restonica Tafoni via corda.
The via corda allows you to go vertical while being secured; it is a kind of introduction to climbing, accessible to everyone and offering breathtaking views. Roped up like mountaineers, all connected to each other, we progress on slabs and rocks equipped with rungs for the most difficult passages. The Restonica Tafoni via corda is the first via corda in Corsica. It has been carefully designed to allow you to discover the Restonica valley from the air.
Lunch in a restaurant with a very family atmosphere.
Day 2:
Electric bike in the Bozio.
A micro-region of Castagniccia, the Bozio is off the beaten track. You will cycle on very small roads where you will meet more cows and pigs than cars.
Thanks to the electric bike, you can easily reach the hilltop villages that cling to the mountainside. Your electric bike will take you through wild landscapes, under chestnut trees or in the scrubland, with the highest peaks of Corsica in the background: Monte Cinto, Monte Rotondo, Monte d’Oro and Renoso.
Le Boziu is also home to many Roman chapels, some of them decorated with frescoes, such as those of Sermano and Sant’Andrea, and others more sombre, such as those of Tralonca and Santa Lucia di Mercurio.
You will also discover surprising churches and convents, a whole forgotten religious heritage.
Dinner in the early evening in the garden of a restaurant.
Day 3:
Walking and swimming in the Vizzavona Forest
From Corte railway station, take the picturesque “trinichellu” train, which climbs up the side of the valley, to Vizzavona railway station.
From there, the walk begins in the shade of the gnarled beech trees of the Vizzavona forest. A pleasant path will take you to the Cascade des Anglais waterfall and a little further on to the famous GR20.
Easy to follow, the GR20 runs along the Agnone river and allows you to discover magnificent natural pools in a green, mineral environment.
Return by train.
Dinner in a restaurant where traditional dishes are combined with flavours from other parts of the world.
Day 4:
Canyoning at Vecchio or Verghellu.
Canyoning is a fun water sport in a wild and steep environment. It consists of descending a river using different techniques depending on the river: walking, numerous jumps (which are possible but never compulsory), swimming through long, deep passages and wide, emerald-green pools, an introduction to abseiling and sliding down natural water slides.
Dinner at a farmhouse restaurant near Corte.
Day 5:
Hike in the Restonica Valley.
The valley of the Restonica is a jewel of the Corsican mountains. The Restonica is a river that flows through a glacial valley. It has its source in two glacial lakes, Melo and Capitello.
You can choose between two walks.
The first goes up the Restonica to reach the crest of the Zurmulu, from where you can admire a magnificent landscape. You then descend into the other valley, that of Tavignano, before plunging into the clear waters of the torrent.
The second is at the bottom of the valley, in the shade. Follow the Restonica river or one of its tributaries until you reach the sheepfolds. From there you can choose the best natural pool for swimming.
Dine by the river and enjoy an authentic and refined cuisine. Here you can taste the best suckling lamb confit or a brocciu dish for vegetarians. And even chestnut flour dishes for vegans!
Day 6:
Horse riding and river bathing.
You will ride on trekking horses, suitable for mountain trails. These horses live in groups and in freedom, but are very respectful of budding riders.
Let your sure-footed horse carry you away on a long morning ride.
Snack by the river and swim with the horses.
The order of the days can be changed.
End of your stay.
The horse ride marks the end of your ‘Adventurer’ multi-activity stay.
Would you like to stay an extra day in Corte? We can book an extra night for you.
