Corsican portaledge
An unusual form of accommodation, the portaledge is a bed suspended from a cliff or rock face.
A sensation of floating, of being suspended by the stars, of sleeping lulled by the song of the moon.
We invite you to spend a whole night on a portaledge.
You can also climb a rock face, eat and sleep in our portaledges.
If you just want to experience an unforgettable dinner, we will sit down on our suspended beds to enjoy an exceptional meal in a unique setting in the Restonica Valley.
Selon vos envies vivre une nuit sur un portaledge dans la vallée de la Restonica ou un dîner au coucher du soleil

‘l'instant Restonica’ a dinner in the middle of a rock face
Would you like to dine in a different way, on a terrace with a spectacular view? The “Table d’En Haut” is this unusual place, unique in Corte. You will be facing one of the most majestic mountains in Corsica, Monte Rotondo, while Lombarducciu, with its lakes Melu and Capitello, appears in the background. The landscape is alpine and yet you are in the heart of Corsica.
The “Table d’en Haut” is the only real “hanging restaurant” in Corte. We offer you a real dinner with a speciality on the menu: L’instant Restonica.
How is the dinner organised?
We meet at the end of the afternoon. A short twenty-minute walk along a family trail will take us to ‘La Table d’en Haut’.
Do you want to do more? We can take the start of the Via Corda Restonica Tafoni.
Then you can sit on the portaledges, chairs without legs that seem to float in the sky.
Let’s admire this unique panorama, then it’s time to enjoy the dinner prepared with quality local products.
After dessert, an herbal tea or a coffee, it’s time to say goodbye to these magical landscapes that disappear with the night.
This is the Restonica moment.
Equipped with our headlamps, we descend back into the valley.

Mini Big Wall of Corsica
- Are you a climber and would you like to discover climbing with a portaledge bivouac?
This is possible by climbing ‘Ma cabane au Canada’.
Today, there are two places that are essential for big wall climbing: Yosemite in California and Restonica in Corte, in the centre of Corsica. Please note that this information is exclusive and has not yet been verified.
Opening in 2025, the ‘Mini Big Wall’ in Corsica is a 5 pitch route with a difficulty of 5b-6. It is a big ‘easy’ route that we have specially equipped for the Portaledge experience.
You will learn or perfect the techniques of hauling and climbing a rope, but above all you will live a unique moment: the preparation of your bivouac on the wall.
It is possible to learn some aid climbing techniques; the last pitch is equipped to perfect or discover this very special form of climbing.
Plan your night in a portaledge: - Meeting in the morning.
- Transport of equipment and portaledges to the foot of the Big Wall of Corsica.
- Climbing of the first pitch and transport of equipment, fixed rope technique for the second pitch.
- After five pitches of climbing and hauling equipment, we set up our hanging camp.
- We settle into our portaledges.
- Preparing dinner on the camp stove
- A well-earned night’s sleep
- Preparing breakfast
- Dismantling camp, leaving the route
- Returning at the end of the activity at the end of the morning
